Well, it's that time of year again. You know the one, where people stuff their faces and then go push and shove to buy things they can't afford for their loved ones. Yep, the holidays are upon us again...DAMN!
Don't get me wrong, I love the spirit of the season. I decorated for Christmas a couple of weeks ago. It helps remind me of the true meaning of the holiday. I strive for "peace on year and good will toward my fellow man." To that end I stay away from the crowded malls. LOL
However, as a single gal, this is a difficult time for me as well. The gray gloomy days and nights remind me that I am indeed alone. That's probably way the plethora of internet dating sites say there are more hook-ups this time of year...and break-ups as well. Confused? Well lots of folks don't want to be alone but at the same time there are many who don't want the burden of gift giving...hence the break-ups. (Yeah, I know. Terrible either way.)
What I find most difficult this time of year is writing. I can't seem to break through the fog. Do other writers have this problem or is it only me? I wonder...
Whatever your reason for the season, be happy and merry. Count your blessings and not your losses and don't let the Ba! Humbugs bite you in the butt!
Well, it's great news for fans of my Legacy Series (urban fantasy). Those of you who raved about Connie, Tom, Raf and Willy and wanted more. Those who said Midnight Sun, Inc. should be made into a movie ( from your lips to a producer's ear!). You are about to get part of your wish. No, not the movie part...not yet anyway. Ready?
Part two of my series, Naked Secrets, will release in March of 2014 , followed in June or July by book three, Haven. Both will be brought to you by http://steamereads.com.au
Who knows? Maybe the movie deal will be next. Stay tuned! Joss Whedon, are you paying attention?
I don't know about you folks, but I am one of those people who likes (loves) to decorate for Christmas. The only problem is, I have SO much stuff I need a running start. Halloween is my usual jumping off point so I'm running a little behind already. DRAT!
We got an unexpected boon at work, Veteran's Day off! I plan to use my extended weekend to make a start on my decorating. Will I finish? Probably not. I what I will succeed in doing is scaring my dogs to death, making a mess of the garage and house and most importantly, get into the spirit of the season. This year I have a fireplace mantle on which to display my nativity.
I don't care for the bustle of the malls or Black Friday sales.
What puts you in the spirit?
I have some great news...the sequel to my urban fantasy, Midnight Sun, Inc. is going to be published! Yep, Naked Secrets has been contracted by Steam E-Reads of Australia and I am beyond thrilled.
While it is early yet, release is tentatively set for around the holidays. So all of you who read Midnight Sun, Inc., loved it and wanted more...stay tuned for further updates.
time to send the kiddies back to school. Are you moms excited to have a little more "me" time? I remember what that was like, all the books I had promised myself I'd read that summer and never got to were devoured the first week! LOL Are you like that, too?
I've noticed on the boards a lot of people have Midnight Sun, Inc. on their "to read" lists. Now is your chance! As the reviewers have said, please don't let the bland cover fool you.
Speaking of those reviews, if you haven't already, check them out to see what goes on behind that brick wall and unassuming store front. wink, wink

A cowboy vampire? Who could have ever thought that would work but let me tell you it does. I love cowboys and I love vampires so what more could a girl like me ask for?
Midnight Sun Tanning Salon owner Tom Thornton is everything a girl could want in a vampire—tall, dark, handsome, with a body built for sin, plus cowboy boots and a Texas drawl. Toss in paid vacations and a benefits package and he is the perfect employer. His short, adorable and flamboyantly gay sidekick, Raf, looks like Tony Curtis–channeling Richard Simmons. Connie Bennett is drawn to both—for very different reasons. Everything she thought she knew about vampires, herself and life in general is about to go pear-shaped…but then, no relationship is perfect!
Tom’s salon is oddly enough in Arkansas. Being from the South I find it odd that this story takes place in Arkansas but I would gladly share my hometown with some hot vampires. This is where she meets Raf, a co-worker who offers to let Connie move into his home after finding out she needs a place to live closer to work. The surprise she gets when moving in is that the boss lives there too.
Tom is the ultimate boss turned boyfriend because he’s gorgeous, kind, hard-working, and a cowboy. Raf is a girl’s ultimate best friend and he’s not only hot but he’s also sweet, loving, and loves to shop. When I say I envy Connie, I mean I envy Connie. She has these two gorgeous men who love her and are willing to do anything for her even if it means giving their life and then she has her friends who are willing to do the same. On the flip side of that coin, nothing in Connie’s life turns out to be what she thought it was.
I love this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. This is one book that I could see on the big-screen.
Okay Joss Whedon, here's your chance!
As all of you know by now...I have a new book out. LOL
I wanted to take the time to thank the readers who have posted reviews on Amazon, Goodreads and The Romance Reviews (and anywhere else I might have missed). You ROCK!
The biggest thrill for me as an author is when I receive reader response. To hear you think my characters are "real" and you want them for your best friends, that every girl should have her own Raf, you identify with Connie, think Tom is super hot, and Midnight Sun, Inc. should be made into the next blockbuster totallyrocks my world!!!!! That's the kind of response every writer strives for.
You are the ones who get the word out about a new book and author. Believe me, I KNOW this! Thanks from the depths of my heart. Hugs!
Well, Midnight Sun, Inc. Has only been out a little over a week and while I could wish for better sales I can't complain about the reader reviews! Everyone has said the same thing...They want more books! What more could a writer ask for?
Well here is the link to the last installment of Tom's Story:
I certainly hope you've enjoyed reading about my hero and plan to purchase Midnight Sun, Inc. to continue the saga. MSI is now available on Amazon and I-Tunes.
For those of you who have asked, yes, there is a sequel to Midnight Sun, Inc. Actually, right now it's a trilogy with book 4 in the works. So, stay tuned!
I hope you enjoy Midnight Sun, Inc. as much as I enjoyed dreaming it up.
Midnight Sun, Inc. is now available on Amazon and I-Tunes!!Real vampires don’t rust, bust, collect dust … or sparkle in the sunshine, but that shouldn’t keep them from sporting a healthy glow!
