What a DAY!

It started when I got up.  It was pitch day at Savvy Authors and I planned to do just that.  Problem was, I wasn't sure I could before I left for work at 7:30.  Luckily for me, they are set to Eastern Standard Time.  Yippee!  I sent it in...all 25 words.  Now I have to wait a week to find out if she is interested.

On the subject of waiting...it's been 4 weeks since I subbed my urban fantasy to the latest publisher.  I will assume not hearing anything yet is good.  Yeah, that's the ticket!

It was a long and BUSY day at work.  I swear from 3:00 to 5:00p.m. they must have been dropping people in from the sky!  So, of course I was late getting home and scrambled when I got here to get the animals fed.  DUH, right?

Well, I had my OSM about 15 minutes ago.  I'm being interviewed today by D.A. Kentner on his blog.  And, the day was pretty much over.  Eek!  So I scurried on over to see if I had missed anything.

Imagine my surprise when I went to Amazon to search for a friend's book and discovered my own!  Is the author always the last to know?

Whatever the case it's there and I'm a happy camper.  So go buy my darned book will ya?

Rocking Along!

Dare to Dream has been out for a week now and is picking up momentum.  I have garnered 3 five star reviews on Goodreads!  As a previously unpublished writer I feel very blessed readers are responding so well.

I am planning another give away soon.  I will wait on the ARCs for Mr. Fix-it to reach me and then will have a double play.  The winner will receive both e-books!  This may be the later part of August or early September, so keep an eye out!

As most of you know, my erotic time travel romance, Dare to Dream, was released from Siren-Bookstrand Publishing on Thursday the 7th.  To celebrate that milestone in my writing career I am offering a free copy of this e-book to a lucky reader.  Unfortunately, due to internet difficulties I was unable to post this offer here until today which is the last day of the contest.  I do apologize. 

(I was supposed to finally get high speed yesterday, but the service tech was in an auto accident.  The internet goddess seems miffed with me again.)

My goodness!  SirenBookstrand Publishing, is certainly moving right along, they have already made
Dare to Dream available for pre-order.

Yes, I am still squealing like a piggy!  Now I have a loverly book banner, and author's page, cover art and DARE TO DREAM will  be available for pre-purchase next week!!!!

That shrill noise you hear is me squealing.  I got my cover art for Dare to Dream today!!  (Thank you Jinger) If you'd care to mosey over to My Stories page and take a gander, you are more than welcome to do so.  I sure am.

I Have Prevailed!

Over what? You might well ask.  My first go round of  edits!  What you thought we writerly types just wrote those wonderful stories and the publishers sent them to print or digitized them?  Hardly!

After we painstakingly go over each word and point of punctuation and the publisher of our choice says, "Hey, we want to publish your book!"  We must make it even closer to perfection.  The publisher assigns editor/s to go over each sentence to find typos, plot holes, mis-punctuation and so forth.  Each house has their own guidelines to adhere to.

Personally, I had a horrible case of, "Oh My God!" with a few editorial comments.  But you know what?  I have a great publisher.  One that not only cares about the business end of publishing but the human side of it as well.  She, poor dear, understands the artistic temperament.  A simple explanation, and I was good to go.

I got my edits on Friday afternoon.  On Sunday afternoon they were back in the hands of Siren Bookstrand Publishing.  Not bad for a newbie.
