I have been submitting Midnight Sun, starting several months ago and have received some rejections,as was to be expected. We've been through all that. There were a couple of houses who have had my full for sometime, so I recently sent follow-ups to them to see if they might need to dig me out from behind the file cabinet or search their junk mail folder for an oopsie. For the snail mail folks, I sent an SASE.
One month later it came back. It was a very thin envelope so I expected the worst.
BUT...It wasn't! Stop screaming! It was the submission editor saying he had sent it to a second reader. That does NOT mean I will be getting a contract--necessarily--but it does mean the first editor liked what he read enough to want a second opinion. This is a big deal. This is New York.
Please be excited for me, `cause I sure am, but don't give yourselves a coronary,it isn't over by a long shot.
