ENTER TO WIN! 08/22/2011

I'm having a contest and the winner will receive not only an e-copy of Mr. Fix-it but one of Dare to Dream as well!  It's a double header!  All you have to do is go to the  contact me tab  on the left and click the tab.  Then enter your first and last name in the top two boxes, and your e-mail address in the next.  In the comment section, tell me what you like to see in your hero.  Now if that isn't enough fun, the winner will get to name the hero in my sci-fi fantasy, Red Sun Rising!  He's a prince from another world, with raven hair and eyes like glowing embers.  I need a name...you chose!

Winner will be chosen by random selection on Labor Day, September 5th.

Please note: Red Sun Rising is a work in progress and is not contracted at this time.

Hellofa Week! 08/06/2011

It's been a hell of a week for yours truly.  Where to begin?

At the urging of a friend, I signed up for one of those on-line dating thingamabops.  It's a new age, people are busy, who has time?  I understand the concept.  But remember, I've been out of the dating loop for over 3 decades.  (God, that makes me sound so old!)  So what do I get right out of the box?  Two, count them, 2 internet predators.  It was quite the learning experience.  Perhaps more so for them, than me.   LOL

Boys, we southern girls didn't just fall off the cabbage truck.  We will find you and it won't be pretty.

So you pick yourself up, dust your bruised ego and climb back on that bronc.  Time will tell if I'll find Mr. Right or not.  I'm in no rush.  Much.
I spoke to a very nice man last evening...

Two job interviews this week as well.  Waiting on the outcomes.  They are still interviewing so I will have a lot of competition.I should know something by the end of next week.

Dare to Dream is out on Amazon!  Yeah, it surprised me too.  I have my release date pretty firm for

Mr. Fix-it--August 30th.  I still need my cover art and line edits, but all systems are go otherwise.  Check My Stories page for blurbs and buy links.

The folks in New York still have parts or all of my urban fantasy series.
~sigh~ New York has their own time table which I am pretty sure will result in my posthumous acclaim. When I said I wanted to be on the New York Times Best Seller's list in five years I didn't mean five after I died.

My fault, I wanted to be a writer.

Speaking of dead.  It's been 105 or more for a week.  Zero rain.  I'm feeding my winter hay.  This does not bode well.

Hugs!

I just found out my book, Dare to Dream, is listed in Goodreads, Best Time Travel Fiction !  Yes, there are about a zillion others, but that doesn't lessen the honor.  Here's the link if you'd care to cast a ballot.

It's up to number 46!

I have a tentative release date for Mr. Fix-it, September 6th.
Siren Publishing, Inc.
I received my copy edits yesterday and will send them off this weekend, so that date may move up.  I'll keep you posted.

Remember, as soon as I get my ARCs, I'll be having a contest  and the lucky winner will receive a copy of both, Dare to Dream and Mr. Fix-it!

Rocking Along! 07/17/2011

Dare to Dream has been out for a week now and is picking up momentum.  I have garnered 3 five star reviews on Goodreads!  As a previously unpublished writer I feel very blessed readers are responding so well.

I am planning another give away soon.  I will wait on the ARCs for Mr. Fix-it to reach me and then will have a double play.  The winner will receive both e-books!  This may be the later part of August or early September, so keep an eye out!

Over what? You might well ask.  My first go round of  edits!  What you thought we writerly types just wrote those wonderful stories and the publishers sent them to print or digitized them?  Hardly!

After we painstakingly go over each word and point of punctuation and the publisher of our choice says, "Hey, we want to publish your book!"  We must make it even closer to perfection.  The publisher assigns editor/s to go over each sentence to find typos, plot holes, mis-punctuation and so forth.  Each house has their own guidelines to adhere to.

Personally, I had a horrible case of, "Oh My God!" with a few editorial comments.  But you know what?  I have a great publisher.  One that not only cares about the business end of publishing but the human side of it as well.  She, poor dear, understands the artistic temperament.  A simple explanation, and I was good to go.

I got my edits on Friday afternoon.  On Sunday afternoon they were back in the hands of Siren Bookstrand Publishing.  Not bad for a newbie.

(Thanks Diana)

So, look for Dare to Dream in July as a Siren Classic!
(Apparently, I'm a little too hot for mainstream.  LOL)

I can't wait to see my cover!

GEEZE! 05/24/2011

What is going on with the weather?  Places that never receive rain are getting it and those of us who are used to wet, stormy springs are getting washed/blown away.  No wonder some thought the world was coming to an end.

Unfortunately for some, it did.  God rest their souls.

Has the weather been the cause of my absence?  Could be.  The power has been off a lot.  Power poles were down.  My already lousy dial-up has been lousier than usual.

I'm still awaiting edits on Dare to Dream but my dear friend, Lillian Grant, got hers.  Look for Speak to Me of Abduction  June 15th!  I'll have an excerpt and cover shot here real soon on My News and Reviews Page.  She has a couple of other books in the line up as well, so I'll keep you posted!

New York still has the first two manuscripts from my Legacy Series.  I await their verdict.

Another friend, Amber Green has a new release via Loose Id, Kyber Run.  Her cover an excerpt are up now, so go check them out!

I haven't been sitting on my  . . .laurels? . . . I have been writing!  I just completed Mr. Fix-it, a contemporary romance.  I am polishing and prepping as I write this, preparing it for submission.  Wish me luck!  In the works are a Sci-Fi romance, Red Sun Rising and book #4 in my series.

See, I'm really not wasting time . . .

Be sure to run over to my News and Reviews page to meet author Paige Tyler and learn a little something about her newest release, Ghost Hunter published by Ellora's Cave.  This is a gal of many accomplishments!

Have a peek at her blurb and excerpt then follow the links to buy the book.

pssst, I have a secret.
