If you have had your TV or radio on this week you know about the horrible weather we have had in the south. Thunderstorms with high winds, hail and lightning have wreaked havoc and spawned killer tornadoes. The devastation has been vast and merciless.
One small town in Arkansas was practically removed from the map as were areas in Georgia and Tennessee. People lost not only their homes but in many cases their lives to nature's fury.
I have been lucky, (so far) with only minor damage to an outbuilding and loss of power for a couple of days. Of course we aren't out of the woods yet. Flash flood warnings have been issued statewide and the rain is still pouring down.
The rescue efforts have been no less than we have come to expect from our citizens. Southern folk help one another. If you would like to contribute to the efforts, check with your local chapter of the Red Cross to see what is needed. BUT, if you have no expertise in rescue please STAY HOME. The last thing needed in these areas is a bunch of lookieloos sight seeing.
Live power lines are still down, debris is everywhere and rescue personnel need what roadways are clear to remain so, so they may do their jobs.
Please remember these towns and their populations in your thoughts and prayers.
