So I'm a day behind, I wrote 50,000 words in 25 days. I'm entitled!
I just posted Chapter 12 of Tom's Story under the new heading of Part Two. Hopefully this will make your navigation easier. Of course the first 11 chapters are still there under Tom's Story Part One.

Hallelujah! NaNo is no mo, but I kicked it's butt! I wrote 6000 words today. 5000 got me to and past the goal of 50000 words, in only 25 days. See my bright, shiny new banner? Below the naked guy people!
Touch it, be inspired by it, you too can do this great thing, all you need is determination, a story idea is immensely helpful as well. There is always next year...
Will I rest on my laurels? Heck no! I am a month behind in my housekeeping, I have to decorate for Christmas, I have to continue my Free read, Tom's Story. (y'all have caught up with me!) and I have to finish up and edit Dare to Dream. That's my NaNo novel, remember the title. maybe I'll blurb it for you, when it's all tidy up.
Let's see...remember the air card that was supposed to give me broadband access? It won't work. I spent ALL DAY Saturday at Best Buy. The Geeks did everything known to mankind (Geekkind?) to get it to work and , NO JOY! So not only am I still stuck on the dark side of the moon, I lost a day and a half writing time. GRRRRRRRRRRR!
But, I will prevail. I am at 43K, I should hit 44 tomorrow and 45 at least on Turkey Day. It will be PB&J Day for yours truly. I can't afford the turkey coma. But my 50k will be finished by Sunday evening at the latest. Thank you, thank you! My story will not be finished But I will be better than half way through my first draft so "Yea Me!!"
Coming soon to my get Bit by My Free Reads Section: an in depth interview with budding new author, Lillian Grant. I putting on the secure site because i don't want to have to edit for content. :)
Thank God! I expected to hit 40K or better this weekend, unfortunately I have to take the PC in for some service tomorrow. Hopefully that won't slow me down much.
As most of you know I am stuck with dial-up here on the dark side of the moon. No one seems to care about us rural folks. Sure you can get broadband via satellite, but who has that kind of dough? Not me. To that end I got an "air card" unfortunately (again) I need new drivers installed in my PC to accommodate it.
I wasted 3 hours today when I should have been writing trying to get the d@#$ thing to install. Everyone said it would be SOOOOOOO easy. Not on the dark side of the moon.
Sorry to everyone who checked this morning for a new chapter of Tom's Story. I did write it...in my sleep...between work and NaNo, I just forgot to post it. Thanks for the reminders! Chapter 11 is up now on my Blogger site. You know the drill-- Home page--Free Reads--Click!
Y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be writing.
Hugs and kisses guys!
a couple of blogs ago, y'all would be the first to know if I got a contract? I'll wait while you pick yourselves up off the floor and stop shouting...Finished? Okay. I didn't. Stop screaming and I'll tell you, Geeze Louise!
I have been submitting Midnight Sun, starting several months ago and have received some rejections,as was to be expected. We've been through all that. There were a couple of houses who have had my full for sometime, so I recently sent follow-ups to them to see if they might need to dig me out from behind the file cabinet or search their junk mail folder for an oopsie. For the snail mail folks, I sent an SASE.
One month later it came back. It was a very thin envelope so I expected the worst.
BUT...It wasn't! Stop screaming! It was the submission editor saying he had sent it to a second reader. That does NOT mean I will be getting a contract--necessarily--but it does mean the first editor liked what he read enough to want a second opinion. This is a big deal. This is New York.
Please be excited for me, `cause I sure am, but don't give yourselves a coronary,it isn't over by a long shot.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I posted a new chapter to Tom's Story last night. Go click
My Free Reads and catch up, then y'all can say you knew me when... LOL
That's the title to the story I am working on for National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo. You'll notice the new banner below the naked guy. Stop looking at the naked guy! Geeze!
This story it a little different than my norm, meaning there are NO vampires in this novel. Instead, we have time travel. To know the rest, you have to read the book. To read the book, I must sell the book. And, before all that can happen, I must write the book. To that end I am pounding away at the keyboard. Eight Days in 21,502 words.
Channel energy this way my friends, I need it!
What time? Tom time! I added another chapter to Tom's Story last night. So Take a break from NaNo and go read chapter 9. Heh, if I had time to write it, you have time to read it. Consider it a gift for all the hard work you have put in this week. Click the Get Bit by My Free Reads link on my homepage to get redirected to my secure site.
I've been a busy little bee and have written 9505 words as of last night and expect to hit 11,200 before bedtime. (If I get out of this blog and get to writing!)
So y'all have fun reading while I slave away at the keyboard.
Recently I have been getting asked the same question a lot. It is the question every writer wants to hear and never tires of. Those of you who have asked already know, for the others, that sweet music to my ears is, "Where can we buy your books?"
Since you have been kind enough to ask, I will be gracious enough to answer one and all in this post. You can't. Not yet anyway, although I am trying. I have submissions out, some have been out a while, but as of yet, I haven't been offered a contract.
It was because of this I started writing Tom's Story as a Free Read, my gift to you to make the wait more bearable. I am so very happy y'all like it, but now I get even more of the question above. Sigh.
Try to be patient as I must be. Publishers have their own methods of doing things and can't be rushed. Trust me, when I hear something good, so will you. You make the wait worthwhile. I do enjoy hearing from you so keep them coming.
