Then I get a notice form my insurance company denying a claim. I call to ask why. "The doctor used the incorrect code,." they say. "So, what code should they have used?" I asked. "We can't tell you that," says they. "Then why tell me? Call my doctor." "Not our problem," says they.
I call my doctor, "I'm sorry. She won't be in until tomorrow. Can I have her call you?" I say, "Please do."
Back at the insurance company I say, "I need to change my policy." For an early birthday gift I have been informed that due to my advancing years my insurance will go up $72.00 a month. "You can fill out your form on line. It's easy." I'm told.
The form asks you to list every illness, treatment, pill, prescription, broken bone, hiccup you have had since birth. Month and year required. How many doctors visits, treatments, pills were necessary to achieve a cure?"
And they wonder why 2/3 of all Americans are currently without health coverage? It isn't the money...well, not just the money.
BTW, I don't have mental health insurance. Something I'm probably going to need after dealing with the insurance company.
I was supposed to write today...
